The Hon Speaker S.W. Lubisi and the Hon MEC Madala Masuku to deliver their respective policy and budget speeches for 2012/ 2013The Honourable Speaker of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature, Mr S W Lubisi, and the Honourable MEC for the Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Mr Madala Masuku, will share the podium in turns as they deliver their Policy and Budget Speeches for the 2012/13 financial year.
Mr S W Lubisi`s speech will focus on making an assessment of the progress made from the previous Policy and Budget speech while mapping the way forward in deepening service delivery through intense oversight and accountability. On the other hand, the MEC Masuku will reflect on plans made by the department in supporting and strengthening municipalities and the institution of Traditional Leadership in 2012/13.
The MEC will also outline the department`s plans for implementing Outcome 9 and the following outputs: a differentiated approach to municipal financing, planning and support, improving access to basic services; implementation of the Community Work Programme, actions supportive of the human settlement outcome, deepening democracy through a refined Ward Committee model, building and strengthening the administrative, institutional and financial capabilities of municipalities, as well as single-window coordination.
