Suspension of the Secretary to the Legislature Mr. Rolson M Moropa from official Duty

The Hon Speaker of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature: Honourable Sipho William Lubisi has suspended the Secretary to the Legislature Mr. Rolson M Moropa from official Duty with effect from Monday the 7th of February 2011.

The suspension shall remain in force pending further investigation into alleged misconduct within the Legislature. Mr. Rolson Moropa is the most senior official in the administration of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature and he should be accorded the necessary respect during his period of suspension.

It should be known that there are no charges levelled against Mr. Moropa and the Speaker will immediately institute an independent investigation into the alleged misconduct. Mr. Moropa has been suspended to enable the Speaker to institute an investigation into the alleged misconduct. At this stage Mr. Moropa remains innocent until he is proven otherwise.

Furthermore, trie Honourable Speaker has appointed Mr. Linda B Tshabalala: Executive Manager Parliamentary Operations as the Acting Secretary to the Legislature during the period of Mr. Moropa`s suspension.
